BBNT Camps

BBNT Camps

Throughout the year BBNT hosts several camps. There are typically 2-4 camps offered throughout the summer (depending on the athletes age and abilities). The team also travels in the winter for training and travel. Scroll down to learn about a few of our different trips.

South Fork Camp

June 14-16

We’re headed back to the South Fork of the Boise for our second annual U-15 summer training camp.  It should be a lot of fun with 3 days of hard training! This camp could easily be called XC-101 Intro to XC ski Training. We’ll Hike, Run, Soak in Hot Springs, and learn to Rollerski.

This camp is open to athletes under 15 who are at least going into 6th grade, but will be capped at 30 participants. Some XC skiing experience is advisable, but not required (so if you’re trying to convince a friend to join the team next year – this may be the time/place!)

The fitter you are coming into the camp the more fun that you’ll have – so get together with your teammates for some running, hiking, and mountain biking in the weeks leading up to the camp!

Truckee Camp

June 4-11

BBNT typically has two major training camps each year - the Thanksgiving trip to West Yellowstone and one in early June to kick off our summer training. It's hard for me to decide which one is my favorite - though both are among the best parts of the training year.

In the past this camp has moved around, and in the past few years the team has been to Bend, Oregon for an on snow camp and Truckee, California for a dryland camp. This year we should get the best of both worlds and have an on-snow camp in California... in June! Thanks to their massive snowpack, our friends at the Auburn Ski Club have offered to groom for us for the week.

Unlike the Southfork camp where I mentioned that coming into the camp fit is "advised" for this camp it is virtually required. We will be putting in a huge amount of training volume to riff off of a classic southpark episode - if you aren't fit going into training camp you're going to have a bad time!

This camp is limited to Comp Team members - and older Devo members with coaches discretion.

Umatilla Camp

For our third year we are returning to the Umatilla National Forest for our annual fall-break training camp.

The Congo Gulch Cabins are a great home-base for some excellent rollerskiing, running, hiking, swimming, and crawfishing.

This camp is open to Comp and Devo Team members

West Yellowstone

BBNT has made the annual pilgrimage to West Yellowstone for at least the last 20 years. The promise of solid early season snow, great training, and being reunited with ski friends from around the country make this trip one of our best.

We offer a full-week camp for our Comp Team members and a half-week trip for our Devo Team members.
