For all elementary-aged skiers (2nd-6th grade) who wish to learn how to cross country ski, improve their skills, or simply stay active through the winter. The focus is on having fun on skis while learning and mastering the fundamental skills of cross country skiing.
The Devo Program is offered as a year-round program, a summer-only program, and a winter-only program. Devo stands for Development - and that is the focus. Development not only as a skier, but as an athlete in general. Devo serves two niches for BBNT - the first is as a bridge for young athletes making the transition from the Youth Rec Program toward the Comp Team. The second is for high school aged athletes - either long-time participants or new skiers - looking to ski a few times a week, hoping to build fitness, improve their skills, and have fun on skis but who cannot commit to the full Comp Program.
For experienced high school skiers (9th-12th grade). Despite the name, our “Comp Team” isn’t just about competition. The athletes have a wide range of abilities, goals, and aspirations. Some are focused on becoming competitive on a regional or national level. Others simply want to continue improving their skills, race through the winter, and train throughout the year. While training and racing is hard work, those who dedicate themselves to Nordic skiing discover many rewards and become passionate lifelong athletes.
