Youth Rec & Lollipoppers

what is Youth Rec?

BBNT’s Youth Rec program is for elementary-aged skiers (3rd-6th graders) who wish to learn how to cross country ski, improve their skills, or simply stay active through the winter. The focus is on having fun on skis while learning and mastering the fundamental skills of cross country skiing.

Each session begins with beginner skiers and advanced skiers working together. As the workout progresses, we divide into groups based on skill level and age.  Group size is never larger than 1 coach for every 10 athletes and frequently we will have 1 coach for every 5 athletes. Instruction is based on a learn-by-doing philosophy. We utilize lots of games, drills, and challenges to teach children fundamental skills and basic ski techniques. The goal is to help kids fall in love with nordic skiing and have a ton of fun!

What is Lollipoppers?

BBNT Lollipoppers is designed for our youngest aged skiers. We focus on having fun on skis, playing games, learning basic ski skills, and making friends on the mountain.

Ages: K-2 (approximate ages 5-7)
Dates: Nov 3 - Mar 13 (subject to change)
Schedule: Thursdays 5-6:15pm OR Saturdays 9-10:15am
Gear: Included
Cost: $99

Parent involvement: Parents are required to be with their Lollipopper during the first session, either on skis or snowshoes. After that, parents are welcome to drop kids off and go on their own ski or hang out in the lodge.

Pricing Structure

Thanks to a generous grant, we are able to heavily subsidize tuition this season. First-time skiers with BBNT receive the lowest rate (the idea is to offer an extremely affordable way for new folks to try the sport for the first time), while returning skiers will still pay significantly less than in previous years. In the sign up sheet, please indicate whether you’re new to BBNT or a returning athlete.

Transportation + gear is included for all programming!

Youth Rec is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the season. Youth Rec athletes are highly encourage to participate in our Bogus Challenge Community Race Series as well. Come as often as you can, but we don’t expect anyone to be able to make all the sessions all year long.
